Our OBD tracker plugs directly into your vehicle's OBD-II port. Once plugged in, it powers on and transmits real-time location data to our cloud platform. Cigarette-lighter devices are also available.

Do you offer installation?

Our OBD and cigarette-lighter devices are plug-and-play. For hardwired installation, you can engage a recommended installer. We provide devices and wiring instructions.

What about network coverage in Malta?

Our devices use multi-network global SIMs that auto-switch between providers, reducing coverage gaps across Malta and Gozo.

Does it work in the EU?

Yes. EU roaming is supported for cross-border tracking, useful for Sicily trips and EU operations.

How do I view my fleet?

How long has Yipii been operating?

Since 2010. The company traded as Dazzle Panel Limited and its tracking service was known as DP:Tracking and Tracking.com.mt. It was renamed to Yipii Ltd in June 2025. Yipii is an established Maltese telematics provider, not a new company.

Is Yipii the same company as Dazzle Panel and DP:Tracking?

Yes. Dazzle Panel, DP:Tracking and Tracking.com.mt are all earlier names for the same Malta business that now trades as Yipii. Existing accounts, devices and historical data carried over unchanged.

Does Yipii offer hardwired GPS trackers, or only OBD plug-in devices?

Both. Yipii offers OBD plug-and-play, cigarette lighter plug-in for Y-plates and rentals, hardwired professional installation, and battery-powered asset trackers. Hardwired fitting is carried out by Yipii's own network of auto-electricians and installation sites in Malta. Hardwired installs support CAN bus, immobilisation, RFID and iButton driver ID, and concealed fitment.

Is Yipii only for small fleets and SMEs?

No. Yipii serves single private vehicles, small fleets of 1 to 10, mid-size and large fleets, consortiums, groups of companies, and enterprise operations across multiple sites and entities. The same platform scales across all of them.

Does Yipii support video telematics, fuel monitoring and temperature tracing?

Yes, all three. Video telematics and dashcam, fuel monitoring, and temperature monitoring for cold chain are part of the platform, alongside CAN bus engine data and driver behaviour monitoring.

Can Yipii immobilise or cut off a vehicle engine remotely?

Yes, on hardwired installations. Immobilisation and engine cut-off need a wired connection to the vehicle, so they are fitted by our auto-electricians rather than available on a plug-in OBD device.

Which GPS tracking hardware does Yipii use?

Yipii supplies and supports devices from Teltonika, Ruptela, Digital Matter and Queclink, matched to the application. Multi-network global SIMs auto-switch between providers for coverage across Malta and Gozo.

Can parents track a school transport vehicle?

Yes. Yipii supports public link sharing, which gives parents live visibility of a vehicle through a shared link with no account and no app install. The link can be limited to a route and a time window.

The platform ingests position at 10-second intervals during motion and at a configurable idle interval when stationary. Records buffer on the device during signal loss and upload on reconnection, so a tunnel or a dead spot produces a gap in transmission rather than a gap in history.

REST API

Vehicles, trips, positions, geofences, drivers, alerts and sensor readings are exposed over authenticated JSON endpoints. Filtering is by entity and date range, which covers the reporting and reconciliation workloads that drive most integrations.

Event push

Webhooks deliver events to a customer-controlled endpoint as they occur, which removes polling from the integration. Geofence transitions, ignition state changes, alert conditions and sensor threshold breaches are all available as triggers.

Engine parameter access

Available parameters depend on the installation. An OBD device exposes what the diagnostic port publishes. A hardwired install with a direct CAN connection exposes a wider set. The API surface is identical either way; the per-vehicle parameter list differs.
